Do you have a rooster? What percentage is your feed protein? Did she ever grow them back in fully? Often higher production hens need more protein than the 16% layer ration provides, especially when molting.
That isn't molting. It's rooster damage, bullying, parasites, or nutritional deficit (just listing all possibilities that cause something like that).
Looks to be rooster damage most likely... she is probably his favorite. She will not recover until she is relieved of his affections... either separate him while she heals, get her a saddle and increase protein if you feed "layer".
The rooster does not mount her. He goes after the other 8 hens. I feed them all pellets, but that is more calcium. Would meal worms help? I can't really separate her right now because our separation coop has a broody on a nest. How can I ensure she eats the proteins?
I am going to go get some meal worms. I have figured out how to separate her to ensure what she eats. I thank you so much for the answers. Will let you know how it goes.
