Hello,

I have a rooster that is about 3yrs old. He is loosing a lot of his feathers all around him.
I don't know if this is normal, but someone told me that he needed protien I think it was, so for their chickens they feed them wet cat food. I tried that with him, but he wouldn't peck at it. He is walking happily, eating and drinking fine. I just have no idea what is going on with his feathers.

Could someone just tell me what's wrong, or that it is completely normal.
Thanks!

It's very likely that he is molting - it's that time of year. Try tossing a small amount of dry cat food into the pen as a treat to raise protein levels.

I'd say he's molting, perfectly normal :-D

X2 Sourland, give em some cat or dog food, whichever you have on hand :-D
