Molting?

I am finding feathers everywhere in my coop from my 2 Brahmans. They are always my fluffiest birds. Today when I picked them up to examine them it feels like they are just dropping feathers-- shedding like a dog! Their skin looks healthy... no redness, no pecking (they actually are the boss ladies of the gang!)-- Is this just molting? It's been really hot here in Malibu Canyon, but I've kept their water fresh and their food plentiful... Help!

It's the start of molting season. I was petting one of my Brahmas today and every time I ran my hand over her, feathers went flying!

It's just your hens molting. Chickens are like dogs they shed there feathers and grow new ones every year I think.
