I have a black frizzle bantam that molted in the Spring, but still has not grown feathers back. I have never had a frizzle before. I live in Florida and it is very hot and humid. Is this normal for a frizzle, and will she regrow her feathers in the winter. She eats, drinks and still lays. She is out free ranging and hunting all day. Acts normal. As a chick it took her forever to grow feathers, and they seemed to grow in swirling rows rather than all over. We named her Phyllis after Phyllis Diller because of the crazy feathers that went everywhere.

What type of feed are you using? Growing feathers takes a lot of protein and minimum protein feeds may be hindering feather regrowth.

Probably. 16% is a common and minimal protein level for adult chickens. Chick formulas are generally higher for growth, but confirm that.
