Molting

I have 1 year old chickens and I just had a broody hen that got off of her eggs two weeks ago. There are feathers all over the place. My rooster looks like he is shedding feathers, but my hen does not. My problem is why isn't my hen laying eggs anymore.

When chickens molt, they stop laying eggs because of the effort it takes to produce new feathers. Extra protein helps a lot with this. If your hen just stopped being broody, it may take a while for her to resume laying.
