molting

I have a hen in the middle of a molt. She stopped laying eggs about 6 days ago. She has lost alot of feathers and stays inside the coop because of the cold, I assume. Is she in danger of the cold? Could she freeze to death?

I doubt she's in danger but molt is hard on them. They almost always stop laying during and for a while after molt.
Give them extra protein to help regrow feathers. Actually, since she's not laying, it's better to switch the flock to grower feed.
I had jaerhon hens molt in January. They did fine but I worried about them.
