My mother and I decided to dive into raising chickens this year. I went to a nearby farm in Java, VA (kinda, it was two hours away) and picked up 7 Dominiques, 6 RIR, and 2 Deleware day old chicks. Once they are old enough some will go home to Momma. They have been a blast so far.
The man we bought our babies from was so nice and helpful. I could tell he was very interested in the welfare of his animals.

Here is our set up for now. They are 4 days old a growing fast. We will have to come up with something else soon.

Glad you could join the flock! Your chicks look adorable in their brooder! Your right they do grow very fast and will be ready for somewhere larger before you know it.
