I've had a run of 3 broods who end up one egg. One hatched today. I usually remove them from the coop while broody, then once chicks hatch move mom,and chick(s) to chick yard.
at his mom will not leave her nesting box. I could move thr box after dark to where I plan to have her with chick.
My other question is my mom who hatched a chick a week ago. shes biting and attacking me and any chicken that comes near her. I'm wondering if I should keep her and her chick in their own confined space a little longer before letting her roam?

Yes you can move it after dark should be ok. As for the other mama, sounds like she is really protective you make want to keep her and chick from others til she calms down to keep anyone including you hurt.
