Just saw another thread on sexing EEs... Now I’m paranoid my pullets may actually be roos. They are ten weeks tomorrow, and even though it may be a little too early, I’ll take whatever you guys got 😅 I can’t even see the combs on the orloffs there, but I’ll post them just incase there’s some thing I missed.

All pullets. Orloffs?!?! Lucky!

I know! I got them at TSC! They're a little slower growing compared to the rest, and are surprisingly flighty. Maybe they took some pointers from the guineas, lol.

Yay!!!
:wee
Orloffs from TSC?!?! Amazing! Do you know what hatchery they get their birds from? The one here gets their birds from Hoovers' and they're just really poor quality. I don't buy from our TSC any more for that reason. They don't look right and die in 2 or 3 years, max. Only private breeders or other hatcheries for me now.
I envy your Orloffs! Beautiful birds. I wonder if your's came from MPC (Meyer's).

I just called them and they said Townline or Hoover. I've never heard of Townline...

When I went they had black sexlinks, EEs (labeled Amercaunas) and Orloffs at the same time. I didn't know anything about chickens at the time and got two of each. If I knew more about chickens back then, I would have definitely paid attention to the hatchery.

One of the Orloffs had recurring pasty butt and was runty for a good 4 weeks. She caught up in growth on the 5th week, thank goodness.

One Sexlink didn't make it the first day, the other one is now the sweetest bird with the softest feathers. After learning about how sexlinks tend to be short lived, I somewhat regretted my decisions to get that one, I'm so attached to her already :(

Neither Townline nor Hoover carry Orloffs. Sorry about your Sexlink. They are sweet birds, it's sad they're so short lived.

Oh that's odd. Maybe it's some mystery hatchery the staff didn't know about. Eh, oh well, lucky me!
