Seems tonight I have a sick baby I think. Puffed up, not running around, lethargic, not really eating or drinking. i just made her a scrambled egg and some sugar water. She didnt take much. crap, now what do I do. No sneezing, no discharge, no funny eye gunk, havent seen her poop. I found some crusty butt and cleaned it off but I dont think it was blocking her.

Sorry your little one is ill. I wish I had more experience with chicken health problems to be of more help. I hope she recovers and feels better soon. Please keep us updated on how she is doing.

The best thing you can do is keep her warm and comfy. While I'm against yogurt (mostly indigestible fats and sugars), I like to use benebac (sp) made for birds and is available at Petsmart or an avian vet. You can also have an avian vet test a fecal sample and tell you what is going on. I'm wondering if there might be a disease transmission from your older hens? Especially with your history of dealing with ill birds.

Yea, i agree Oldchix, i know its going to take its course eventually. Since the loss of MayMay, everyone has been fine and dandy, but i always have that thought in the back of my mind. I am always really really careful to wash when i come inside before i go near them. Tonight Leah the chick is fine, they are running around like crazy jumping,flapping, and chirping.
