Sunday night photos!!! I have not noticed a change al all in Victorias comb in 3 weeks. I am questioning my thoughts that she is a he now. lol. Looks like maybe i really did get 6 girls!!!!all is well.

Victoria - her crest has gotten huge! I had to trim it today for her to see, but no comb size change, no pink or red color yet on face!!!

Have your big girls and Bird noticed yet that you have gotten the chicks ? I assume you have gotten some nasty looks through the window or door if the other bird girls or Bird has notiiced them yet. Though by June/July all Bird will be thinking is he has new young shaped pullets to romance and show that he is the boss of them. It will also be interesting to see if he will get into between any of the older girls and the new ones if the fighting and pecking gets too bad to stop each group from hurting the other.

the new girls are still inside with me, so the others havent really had a chace to see them. i did have my Cochin inside to put some neosporin on a cut and showed them to her. She had the FUNNIEST look when she saw them. I put her down on the floor with the door to the box open and of course 'Toria had to run up and say hi. It was funny, they both looked at each other like 'WHAT are you!"

The last 2 or 3 times I have had new girls, I put them in a separate pen that was adjoined by temporary fencing and let them see each other for two or three weeks first. That seems to help big time. There really arent a lot of fights between them, just your average few picks and then that's it. I have been fortunate enought there have not been any fighting at all.
