Chickie you seem to have the gift of common sense.

I think one of the cool things about a broody hatching a clutch is to watch them totter about the place. Animals are so fascinating largely due to their unpredictability. I raise and train horses and frankly the entirely predicatable (though very safe) ones, quickly bore me and I move on to those that are less so.

Not shook up at all. Just taken by supprise. We are enjoying learning about our chickens. Been in to it less than 1 year. So we realy have learned alot from the forum. Maybe we will or maybe we won't let her hatch again we'll decide when the time comes, but there are no regrets.

You are right about watching them just tottering arround. DH and I just sit and watch each day. It's our relaxing time after work. I find one of the best ways to learn is to observe. Raising horses must be very exciting. I understand they are very intelligent creatures. Wish we had the $ and space to do it too.
