Momma hen chick adoption chances

Can I place new chicks 1/2 days old with momma and her three 4 day old chicks?

I have a brooder set up if not but was wondering if this is an option?
Higher chances of momma rejecting since her chicks are already hatched?

Some people have success, I've read about putting chicks under mama at night. Others haven't had very good results and the added chicks were ignored or killed. It's a gamble.
