Pain killer can actually kill a young chick

I never heard that- thank you! I’m really surprised. I thought it was only pain killer that has the “Caine” suffix that is deadly to chickens.

Anyway, I’ve stopped putting the neosporin on. I did find one other bad, not-so-good aspect about neosporin ointment with chicks- it can get on the down feathers and possibly chill them. Both of these babies look a bit greasy now. I’m concerned about that now. It’s not too bad, but still. I admit, not the best idea, but I think it did save from infection initially.

Chick is doing very well now, eating, taking chick naps, quiet peeping and chattering. I think I’ll switch to the veticyn.

Lol! I love the bonnet idea.. that had to have been adorable, but I have no idea how you kept it on. I do have some gauze, but her head is about the size of a small marble. That’s some delicate work for nimble fingers I don’t have.

Thanks Penny.. she’s doing much better now. She seems to be comfortable. I’ve switched to the Vetercyn. The wound looks good. I’ve also put some poultry pro vida in their water. I think this really helped a lot.

Oh Crazy Choi Choi lady, Gertrude is a doll! She’s gorgeous! I love her tuft, that’s so cute! That injury looked so bad, poor girl!
