I had a hen siting on a nest for 30 days. the eggs were duds, I knew that I had to do something so I bought 3 day old chicks and set them under her in the middle of the night and she took to them right away. While I had her locked up with them she took great care of them Now that their feathers are in (just) I decided to let her out of confinement with the rest of the flock . . . she hardly ever even looks at them except at nite when she lets them sleep in her wing!!! I have lost one but not sure if I should put them in the house in a pen or what!!
when they were little!! and what type of chicken is this???
They are growing and seem to be managing but I don't want to loose another!!!
