While the Invasive Species guys deny we have mongooses on Kaua'i, we spotted 2 over the last 2 years in Kalaheo near the coffee fields. Something made two large holes in our coop (coated chicken wire over a metal frame) one night and shredded all hens but left the eggs. Anyone else on Kaua'i having this issue, or ideas as to what got our hens?

Chicken wire won't stop dogs much less a mongoose or a coon. It can be ripped apart, it is just twisted together.

You are not going to stop a mongoose with a treadle feeder, the only way would be very tight coop using hardware cloth, no free range, and make sure every square inch was covered with well fastened 1/4" hardware cloth.
