I currently have a Meade TM005X-M 3-Channel indoor/outdoor thermometer/hydrometer. It came with one remote sensor that I keep in the coop at the roost and I added a TS33F-M Sensor that has a wired probe, which I have on a fishing bobber with a 1/4oz weight in the waterer...so I know if either 50w aquarium heaters quits working.
It's worked ok this winter, occasionally I lose signal on the probe in the waterer...the metal roof on the coop doesn't help, can probably relocate the sensor for a better signal since the one in the coop is fine but our winter hasn't been severe in NC.
I just purchased a Sensorpush Smart Sensor on
Amazon. It has good reviews, logs data, bluetooth, can set alerts, automatically connects when in range, and is supposed to have a 325 foot straight line range...I have about 90 feet to the farther side of my house from the coop so we'll see...if the range reaches in the house, I'll be getting a couple more. Looking forward to having the info on my smartphone, and they are coming out with a WiFi bridge in the 3rd quarter so info will be available anywhere I have a signal. I asked if they would come out with a waterproof temperature sensor and they said it's been discussed.
Yes, yes, I know this is completely unnecessary, but I have a problem just like everyone else on this site and it's different for everyone but all related to chickens.
