Monster egg!

Our one buff mix hen just laid this monster egg. She is just sitting in the nest box trying to revive herself haha. Its huge! White egg is a store bought one for comparison. She just started laying about a week ago, the first eggs were normal, this one is triple sized

My red sex link girls used to do that on occasion. Regular sized large eggs, then wham, a whopper. They usually turned out to be double yorkers when they were that huge.

Have you cracked it open yet?

I'm trying to wait to crack it until my husband is home, I know he will want to be there haha! although the suspense is eating away at me lol. I'm quite impressed with my little hen.

I actually didn't know my screen name was already used for a blog. I didn't know until i had been using it for a few months on different sites. Here I thought I was being creative but nope lol

I've heard of that happening, and that was my guess too.. But wow. We haven't had one like that yet but that is really neat.
