Hi from Montana,
I got 7 chicks back in 2020 and love my girls!
People are shocked when they see how friendly they are. They love to sit on my lap, get butt rubs and follow me everhwhere. I've even brought a chicken to a video meeting!
I have all girls, no roosters.
Montana can be a challenge with negative 30 in winter and HOT summers.
The year before, I got 3 fertilized eggs and Buffy hatched one. This year, I got 6 eggs and all 6 hatched which was a surprise. I have 2 hens raising them in their own enclosure. At 2 days old, one hen is picking on one of the babies and I'm trying to decide if it warrants removing the hen.
I love having chickens and I am always learning something new with them!
