This is my light brahma roo. You see what I mean? You can definitely tell the difference.

He'll be 9 weeks old tomorrow.

Thanks a million.

Like Equibling my girl too is very red comb and face, but at 8 weeks she still has a little comb and no waddles. So unless they pop out like crazy this week, we can stop worrying that she is a he and the girl we love best will have to go.

DH says thanks too as he thinks our little one is pretty special.

From Montana where it is still winter & snowing

Here she was at 7 1/2 weeks...the comb and face were starting to redden up.

As soon as the snow stops I will get one of her again, showing her most current colors.

Equlibing do you have any photos of yours?

Here is my buff brahma, who is exactly 8 weeks old today.

You can see she is quite red around the face, but almost no comb... Being a first time chicken raiser, people talk about color & that is what made me worried.

equibling, your adult roo is indeed very handsome. Your suspected pullet is what? 5 weeks old now? I do wish you could get a better pic of her. After studying that pic, I'm still not sure. The red in the comb doesn't bother me too much, since it's not that large. My buff girls had red combs very early, but they have stayed small. It's the bare wing bows that bother me with yours. Guess another 2 weeks or so and we'll know for sure. Sorry I couldn't be more help. Maybe someone with more experience will weigh in on it.
