Montana

Hi Karla, Cindys chicks are from eggs that she got from me, except for the last 2 photos, and the  egg photo shows my eggs in the top carton and also the 1 red egg.  I should have very similar chicks this weekend. I have about 80 eggs going into lockdown. I hope to sell some as chicks, but will most likely end up growing out half of them. I will have started pullets mid April, and they should start laying by June. They should all be EE's and olive eggers, and I guess there would be a slight chance of pure Ameraucana and pure Marans.
The storm is still bad here, I got off of work early today, so was home by about 3:, I have everyone fed and locked up for the night. We haven't gotten as much snow as forcast, but the winds are really bad, and its white out conditions up here where I am. I've got the wood stove going, the house nice and warm and I'm in for the night. Everyone stay safe, and stay warm.
. I want I want ! That silver chick is that one of yours? Ok, can you hold me some , I can not take chicks now, but I can pay you for my pullets if you can grow them out for me. I will pay through PayPal if you are ok with it, and I can pay this week if you like. I really want a ameraucana if at all possible, and EE and olive egger and by gosh a maran if that'sossible. I can pay ahead of time, and extra for the feed to. I'm not sure where you are, I may have to take one heck of a ride lol, but I'm looking forward to some pretty blue eggs ,olive eggs, and more maran eggs. What kind of maran do you have? I have a copper Maran, she layers a beautiful red egg. Pretty dark some times. I get a green egg now, but a pretty blue one would thrill me. I need 4 total !

Azriel, when are these chicks due to hatch? I can mark it on my calendar . Oh. I'm so excited! What color do those silver chicks come out to be ?

Hi Karla, chicks will start hatching tomorrow, I'll let you know what I get, the silver one should be lavender or light blue, very pretty when grown. Last year I got a chick that was that silvery color with yellow spots and she turned out to be a mottled lavender, very pretty girl. I hope to sell some of them as baby chicks, but I'm so bad I hide the pretty colored ones when people come to look because I want to grow them out and see what colors they turn out to be. I'm N of Billings, up by Roundup, but I would be willing to meet you part way, I love a road trip in nice weather. I'll post some photos after the hatch. I need to get my brooder moved out of the living room, and set back up in the spare bedroom, I have a new kitten and she would terrorize the chicks if I leave the brooder where I normally have it.

I just went to look at the eggs and when I opened the door I heard cheeping. I have 2 hatched already. A Wheaten/Blue Wheaten Ameraucana and a silver one from an olive egg. So I got the brooder moved and set back up, got the feeder and waters rewashed and light bleach soak, heat is on and all is ready to start moving chicks out of the bator. I'll probally move these 2 tonight just because the bater is so packed and I want to give them more room when they all start hatching tomorrow. I almost forgot to buy starter food for the chicks, but got it yesterday. So I guess I'm ready. Now my biggest problem is going to be staying out of the room the bators are in, I want to be in there watching for pips and hatching. I do need to go out and bring some wood in, and I must wash dishes. Keep busy, leave the bators alone.

Ooooohhhhh, I'm darn excited to ! A blue wheaten what color egg does that produce? The silver do olive eggs? Cool I could use a blue egg layer and a nice olive egg. Gosh then I will only need to find a white egg layer lol, ( a hope of mine) oh man I need pictures, I'm so so excited!

I can not wait to see pictures. My daughters boy friend by the way lives up in the country past billings, she said they both would gladly take the trip!

Anyone here selling bupnnys? There is a girl on Montana classifieds in Facebook that is looking for a pet rabbit. It's in the butte classifieds

I've got 5 chicks out now, 2 blue, 1 lavender,1 black and the wheaten. I've got them resting in the brooder. If any more hatch tonight I'll leave them in the bator till morning, I don't like to open it too often. I have several more pipped and should be hatched by morning. I've got a little pullet egg in there, a nice dark olive, and thats one that is pipped, I'm sure its going to be a tiny chick. The rest of these are good size chicks. The room the brooder is in is kind of cold, and I've got them pretty much covered up, so I'll try to get photos tomorrow once they are up and moving around better.
