Oh I understand why you suspected me. I do not, however, understand why you posted in a public topic instead of contacting me privately. You have my phone numbers and you have messaged with me on this site privately in the past, so I know you know how to do it.

I didn't betray your trust of having your phone number. The odds of another IPC from doTERRA calling you being a coincidence is actually HIGH because I would be losing a potential client by giving away your info. Why would I do that? If you had gotten the name of the person who called you, or asked them how they came by your number, I could help you further. This is simply inappropriate what you are doing right now, but I do hope you figure out what happened.

K~ Silly question for those of you who have tried shipped eggs.

Where have you had the best luck shipping them in from? Better luck from nearby states or no?

My incubators should be empty next week... can't have that! LoL!

I've shipped eggs in a lot over the last few years from all over the country, and have had good and bad hatches from all over. I don't think its so much where they come from, as how they are handled before and during shipping, and how they are packed. Find a breeder that has what you want, check their feed back, try to find someone that double boxes the eggs, then cross your fingers and hope for the best.

I've had equally crappy luck with shipped eggs in the last 9 months or so... No matter if they were flown or driven or whatever. The best shipped hatch rate I've had was from Azriel for the NYDH. The ones marked "Hatching Eggs" are the worst. Those unmarked or just marked "Fragile" is a tie in the destruction department. Broken air cells, scrambled/cracked/obliterated eggs, all pretty common now-a-days :(

I'm opting to hatch my own eggs and purchase chicks with the sales. No more shipped eggs for me- just too depressing when none make it 10 days.

I've had 100% hatches on eggs that I've shipped in, but normally I'm happy if I get 40-50%. I've also had 0 hatch, you just don't know. I think I've only complained once, and that was the worst packing job I had ever seen. The eggs were double boxed, but they were just loose in the inner box, not even wrapped in paper or anything, every egg was smashed. I've had several people that I've shipped to get 95-100%, and I'm very happy when that happens, but I've also had people get bad hatches, there is just so much that can go wrong. I think some people ship out eggs that are too old and not stored properly, but I do think most people want the buyers to get a good hatch and do try their best.
I wish I could ship chicks in, but I leave for work at 530 AM and don't get back up here till 5-5:30 PM and could never get to the PO to pick them up. I might try to go to the show in May and pick up some chicks/started birds, but don't know if I can get away for a whole weekend this year.

I'm such a cheap-skate! LoL! I'm just so hesitant to spend money on something knowing I may not get anything out of it.... I sure wish there were more "poultry people" locally *sigh*

I am so frustrated that the meets this year seem to be on May 4 weekend. I have to be in Pensacola for my daughter's graduation for her Masters program on May 4.

Aw man! But hey, it's nice to know that you put your daughter's achievement before chickens/poultry! I think that's really sweet :) And a big CONGRATS to her!

I went to Idaho Falls Chickenstock last year. It was OK, I sold every chicken I brought with me as well as a few crates within the 1st half hour. It sounds like it will be bigger and set up better this year. Last year we were in one of the barns, it was cold and dark, I had a bad cold, so wasn't feeling well, you also had to walk across the fair grounds to use a bathroom. It would have been nice if they would have had a place to warm up, and they didn't even have a coffee pot set up. If I go to one this year, I'll go to the show in Hamilton.
Can anyone tell me if that highway 38 from just N of Anaconda to Hamiliton would be open then? It looks like it called Skalkaha Pass and closed in the winter.
Well, my hatch is done, I hatched 25 chicks out of 64 set, All 4 of the eggs from my girls hatched, so I got 21 chicks out of 60 shipped eggs. So that would only be 25% on the shipped eggs. Not great, but I can live with it. I love anything blue, so I'm kind of excited about the Blue Sex Links. Hope they are as good of layers as the BSL and GSL.
