Montana

Got a bunch of hay put up. Got hit with another storm on Wednseday. Got .51 inches of rain and some lighting strikes pretty close.
I think I scared the meterologist I was making my spotter report to. I was looking out the kitchen window when a bolt hit so close there was a flash and a boom just as I was telling him how close the strikes were. I don't think yelling holy crap in his ear was a good thing either. He heard the thunder over the phone it was so loud. I could tell him his voice it shook him up too.

Ok, I'm going to try something different, I'm in Montana so this will have to be from folks here but I'm looking for many things.
Fresh eggs.( 8 dozen at a time) .. Not fertilized*** would also want to try duck and quail eggs
Fresh goats milk (will take a gallon at a time )
fresh canned foods like pickled beets, jams , pickles
soaps ( only the large bars ( soap loaves) as I hate small bars of soap. I like to cut my own.
Produce

Now you might ask why I do not do these things my self, well I'm busy. I take care of mom and dad, my handicapped nephew and raise my grand kids I have no ambition to make these things right now im to darn tired ! and my chickens are not laying lol so i need eggs and refuse to buy at the store ! The goats milk is for my Chickens as my parents swear by it helping chickens lay better and more eggs ( we shall see)
Pm me to let me know what you have and where to go to get it Thanks

I'm in butte and willing to drive 100 miles if you have all this, or even some . Soap can be shipped and paid through pay pal if your soap is not to expensive,

I got cows milk, but I'm around 3 hours away from you.
I also put up some killer hot dill pickles, bread and butter and sweet pickles too.
Been having an egg "hunt" competition with our barn cats that have decided that they like fresh eggs too.

Sorry no soap right now. Hard to get my hands on lye. Try these guys. Love their goats milk soap.

How many chicks you fixing to get? You picked a nice place to live, flathead valley is awesome. Lots os snow

Im not really sure? We have 6 in our family, and there are 5 in the other. And I would bet the 3rd family that lives on the ranch will possibly want some eggs, and they have 5 I believe as well. We go through quite a few eggs ourselves usually. I actually was thinking I should get a few more then I think we need and could always pare down later. We want to raise some for meat too. Im on a big become as self sufficient as I can kick lol

I do wonder about winter!! any suggestions on wintering?

Glad to see someone else on the self sufficient list! We here got our girls for eggs because we want to be more self sufficient to . Lots Of things coming down we need to prepare for, and you are smart . We got 6 chickens because we wanted at least 2 dozen eggs a week, we need to get 2 more chickens but will wait until the spring now and start anew. One was a roo so we are down to five . The good part a out you being on a ranch is you can have roosters and fertile eggs, did I say I envied you lol? We are a family of 4 ( single grand mother raising 2 grand kids and a young teen daughter ) Hired someone to build me a coop and determined I was having chickens! Next spring I will be doing a new coop at my parents . In winter make sure your coop is insulated. We get cold here and long winter days.
