i have 70 (or should i say i had 70) broiler chicks. they are about a month old. they are in a brooder that i used for my last batch. after my last 50 were butchered i cleaned every bit of poo and dirt and straw out of the brooder. i then let it air out for 2 days. i put a layer of shavings on the ground topped with straw and hay. ive never used hay as bedding before but i got it cuz the feed store was out of straw and the sales barn was out and i couldnt just get ahold of 2 small square bales of straw. its so warm here (88 during the day and 65-70 at night) that i replaced a plexi glass window with chicken wire. and ive been providing water from a different spicket, same well tho. those are the only changes ive made since ive moved them to this brooder. they were previously in another brooder when they were significantly smaller. i dont understand why they are dying. ive lost 4 in the past 3 days and i have a bunch that are moping around, including a couple month old layers. i will use any advice that i am given. i cant lose any more birds. please help

Could it be cocci? It sounds kind of like it and the age is right. They will mope if they have it. A couple of mine had it and the vet said 1 TBSP Corid soln. per 1 gal of water for 1 week. It completely cleared up the droopy lifeless chickens.

so i went to the local vet and got some corid. im gonna try that since its my last option. i tried vitamin packs and sugar water, now i will try this so hopefully this will work! hope with me!!!
