Month old white chick with black spots from “female rare” assortment

Katie from Meyer HATCHERY got back to me and said this:

I believe she may be a Frizzle Easter Egger that presented with smooth feathers. She will have the frizzle gene and that would carry into offspring.

so cool!
Smooth frizzles don't carry frizzling. They show it if they have any genes

Hmm, that doesn't look like the body of an EE to me. It's very stocky. Look at those legs! And bearding is a dominant trait so even my OE's have full beards. You would think even a hatchery bird would carry at least a little beard ...

I don't think so. But my EEs never have beards, only muffs

its weird that all 4 look the same right? One EE would statisticslly be frizzles by this point or do they not get frizzled by 1 month old?

anyway I will keep y’all updated. I’ll take more photos in a couple weeks 🙃

I think it's just a Delaware with the wrong leg color.

The description for "rare assorted" chicks has a list of many breeds, but also says "and other rare breeds as they are added to our rare breed offerings."
Delawares are on their rare breed page.

(If it grows up to lay blue or green eggs, that will prove it is NOT a Delaware.)
