Smoke nodded. “She had to leave. The pack forced her out when they caught your scent on her. I don’t know where she went."
“I-I,” Star stammered, not knowing what to say to any of this.
“Trust her,” Smoke interrupted. “She’s got more skills than we give her credit for.” Without waiting for his sister’s response, he nudged her gently and took off before anyone could see them.
