Moral Conundrum -- The "Bartering Eggs For Coffee" WILL HAPPEN!

Some of my favorite most memorable days ever were sitting on the brew deck there at Full Sail eating buffallo burgers from the grill and watching the wind surfers. I'm a fan of the Amber most, altough some of their summer pilsners are great too.

Here on the Redneck Riviera (Gulf Coast from Panama City, FL to NOLA,) we have McGuire's, one each in Pensacola and Destin, FL. I enjoy an imperial pint lager or pilsener, when available, the boks are just the nuts!

I have been eyeing that FGM grain mill for Kitchen Aid on the Pleasant Hill site. I think we'll have to get it (along with the butter keeper, corn zipper, some food-safe buckets, and a new mortar and pestle)

Oooo Dylan is on "The Last Waltz." I love this part....

I buy coffee beans from an outfit near NYC. Granted that's a distance from you, but it's also quite a distance for me. They buy Fair- trade coffee beans from all over the world and will roast the green beans to your specific demands or just trust their expertise to offer a great roast at competitive prices. If you order a 25 lb sack of whole bean roasted coffee, shipping is free. the address is www.coffeebeandirect.com I've been buying from them for years and their jasmine flower green tea is the best I've ever had!

I was going to suggest Azure Standard-they are really cool people. The owner did a talk at my organic farming class. DC-we're going to McMenamins Sunday for Father's Day-we are total PNW microbrew beer snobs!! LOL

YAY father's day beer at McMenamin's

Lucky lucky you guys! And you took a class in organic farming? Good for you. Are you doing any?

Mitch (DH) just said we are going to Abruzzo Italian Grill in Hood River, but they are not open on Sunday, so maybe he means Friday or Saturday?

Awesome! That Italian place sounds good-my mom and I drove over to Hood River from Stevenson when we went to the poultry show a few months ago and didn't know where to eat. All of the places she used to know of were no longer and we ended up at some Chinese place. We live within 20 minutes of two McMenemins so try to go at least once a month. MMmmmm.
That sounds like a lot of good stuff you ordered-I used to have a really nice grain mill that I got at Goodwill for $5. I wish I still had it-it was so nice. We do mave an organic garden. Our lavender and raised beds as well as flower and hrb beds are all organic. I need to work on getting the chickens organic food too, cause I'd really like organic eggs too.

I haven't done organic food for the chickens, only because the cost is so high for the stuff I just can't rationalize it. My poultry all get TONS of greens and snacks and left overs, and that really helps, because I don't free range. I won't free range. Just too many predators out here to justify that, either.

I did buy them that bag of chicken wheat treat from Azure Farms. I'm sure that will be a nice addition to the goodies they normally get.

We are hardcore gardening right now. We have raised beds EVERYWHERE which is why my poultry space is so limited

My last count was 114 varieties of veggies, seeds, melons, and other fruits, not including the cherry orchard. We have an herb garden and lavender, too. Everything is organic. I'm obessed!

Sounds like heaven! I have decided to buy a share of a local CSA this year. That way I can grow things in bulk that I want to can. We eat tons of canned beans and tomatoes. I wish I had enough room to grow enough to eat fresh and can, but it's one or the other. This is an experiment for us too. We'll see how we like it.
