I posted a while back that my White Rock Pullets had some blood in their stool after trying treats for the first time. I gave them yogurt & it went away. I tried to split up one grape between the 12 of them about 4 days ago & noticed more blood in the poop. It went away again & now today its even worse. There is no poop at all - just blood. Ive called every vet in my area & no one can help me. A few of them are sitting off in the corner sleeping & are being very inactive. ive put zip ties on the feet of the ones acting that way. All of the tractor supply stores in my area & beyond are all closed. What do i do overnight for them ? On top of this, i have a funeral in the AM to go to & wont be able to get to the store until the afternoon. Please help, what do i do right now !?

It's possible your chickens have coccidiosis (search above here at the site) and if so, this is a life-threatening disease. Do you have any electrolytes containing Amprolium? Do you know anyone who might have some medicated starter feed to give you until you can get meds? Cocci can take birds quickly and if this is what they have, you need to scrub/disinfect/rinse all waterers. eliminate as much or all excess moisture in coop and run and ideally clean down the coop as you treat the birds. Can you separate the worst ones to give them more intensive observation?

Bloody stool and lethargic birds does not sound good. You could call your County Extension and find the poultry lab that serves poultry farms in your area. They can autopsy your bird, around here it is a free service. You will not get your bird back alive though, and if it turns out to be something serious like Larangeotracheitis they might tell to put your flock down. But then, if it was that serious, saving wouldn't be an option anyway. Knowing what you are working with can save time, money and birds, because you can get them on the right treatment to start with.

Any respiratory symptoms at all? Watery eyes, crusty or runny snot, smell? Open the beak and look for blood? cheesy lesions? My first impluse would be to put them on Tylan, or Lincomyacin, coupled with antibiotic injection if I suspected something respiratory. Still, that would only work if it is baterial, but not viral. Lots of diseases look very similar. Seperate sick ones and disinfect immediately to contain it.

To disinfect, move birds, rake up poo, and get a big sprayer and mix about 15% bleach solution and dose floo, roosts, wood, feeders and everything. Then move them back when it is dry. I put a drop of Iodine in the water to help prevent bacteria too.

ive raised them on medicated chicken feed & they just moved them outside to their new coop. i thought it may be coccidia & i just need to know what to do overnight for them.

UPDATE : I lost one of my pullets today. Im a wreck. I bought the meds & everything needed to treat them. Ive bleach cleaned all of the coops & gave everyone the treatments. I think i might lose a few others.. thanks to everone thats tried to help so far. I think im finished with chickens for a while after this...
