Guess I'll have to give him away. I have so many BR cockerels to sell that are much better barred than he is. Maybe his new feathers will come in better than this, but who knows? So, he's a sweetie, but I have no use for him here with Gabe and Zane both staying around.

Thanks Cyn, I removed the rest of the debris this afternoon and will go to buy the wood tomorrow so we can begin building friday. The chicken houses are just in the middle of the yard. It is strange not seeing the pen but the girls got into the houses so I just locked them in to keep them safe. I will keep you posted.

here is a photo of my Blue girl from Suede and Caroline:

If I could have roo's I would take him esspecialy if he is sweet that is what counts for me because I am not breeding for anything.

Hey, Cyn, that little boy looks to have Cuckoo feathering - my Marans look just like that. Kinda messed up barring. You don't have any Cuckoo birds around there, do you?

Lori

Nope, just Barred Rocks. My Ivy looks more like a Cuckoo Marans hen than BR, but she has yellow legs. Was sold to me as a BR by Ideal via the feedstore, but her eggs have never been fertile that I know of. It may remain a mystery! BUT, if it was Ivy's son, say I picked her egg up and not Lexie's, then that might explain it. Her barring is really cuckoo.

Well, he may not have perfect barring, but he sure is a cute little guy! I'm sure someone would love to have him that wants a nice, sweet roo.

IF I do get my license ever I am sure I would love to go on a sothern chicken tour in the summer. LOL
