Haha! Well, thank youIf I hadn't blown all my cash on feed this week, I'd put $100 on that being a cockerel.
sure if you have pics to compare that'd be great. We already rehomed another rooster so we were hoping we wouldn't have to again.Looks like we may have to. Darn.Hey 303Chick at 5 weeks, with the size and colour of the comb, I am going to go with rooster also.
I also agree that it looks like a Cochin.
I have a couple of 5 week old Cochin pics I can post for comparison if you need them.
Thank you so much, that's very helpful. I will let you know what happens. Cute chickens you have! Thanks againWhile not close up, this one was taken when they were 5 weeks and 3 days old; if you enlarge, you can see the clear difference in comb between the boy and the girl:4 week old girl (small, pale comb):
Both boys, same age as above:
While not the best picture, again demonstrates the difference in comb size and colour at 4 weeks old:
Boy, 7 weeks and 3 days old (this one is the one at the back of the third photo down; whose comb was 'questionable' but still turned out to be a boy):
Please let us know if/when you know for sure and fingers crossed that I am wrong
