Oh and back to the OP's question, according to Purina in their nutrition section on BYC it's not possible for a bird to lay 2 eggs so quickly. But I had a white leghorn that did exactly that several times so I know it's possible.
I also have a white leghorn that has on occasion laid two eggs in the same day. Easy to tell as she is my only white egg layer. And yes, I too have put eggs in my pocket and forgotten about them! Luckily with fresh eggs they are easier to clean up than old store bought eggs.

Ahem (clearing my throat). But seriously I am glad I came across this thread because my girls have had me perplexed with their laying schedule. It is nice to be able to learn from experienced duck people.
