more eggs than hens

there you go.... extra eggs.... one of 'em is an over achiever

However since they blew the curve yesterday ~ today they took a vacation and only gave you a couple of eggs. Yeppers they're messin with you!

My past 7 days of collection from 6 hens.

Someone is putting in some overtime.

I have a light that comes on at 5AM turns off at 8AM and turns back on at 4PM and finally turning back off at 7PM giving them 14 hours of good light. they have 6 to 8 inches of a mix of pine mulch and pine shavings in coop. The coop has not dipped below 35deg even when it has been 20 at night. I feed Purina Layena +omega3 and some cracked corn/sunflower seeds each evening before bed.

When life gives you lemons you make lemonade...when six chickens give you seven eggs you make quiche and freeze it for those days when the little stinkers don't give you any eggs. There have been a few of occasions when I have gotten eight eggs from my seven girls. Twice it was my little bantam EE just before she went broody. I knew it was her eggs because she is the only bantam I have.
