my Rouen that was attacked last week by a fox has been making progress, today why I was holding her in my lap and feeding her I noticed that her foot, which has been spreading out and looking better lately was dry and leathery rather than soft an rubbery like the other, and like other duck feet. the vet said not to remove the wrap holding the splint, but I am scared there's something very wrong. its hard to say but I would say that it also looks swollen.
what do I do?
the one with the wrap on the leg is the one I am worried about and the other is the good foot.

Its a little swollen, i would not worry. don't take the wrap off until the vet tells you to.
how about the dry leathery texture? its really weird, like a leather work glove that got left out in the rain then dried. she seems able to move it...but doesn't much. at first it was all withered up like a leaf and over the last couple days its been spreading out to look like a duck foot again.

she spent a little time outside, in an isolated pen but where she could visit with buddies today, but she's inside the house now and whenever she can't be supervised
she's been sleeping in a large tote to keep her from moving around much, at the moment she's snoozing on the couch with my wife, just had her meds.
btw, I say she, and its wishful thinking but in the sun I see a lot of green sheen on top of her head. :hmm
