And now for my questions: Will a duck know and come to it's name? Does anyone know where I might obtain a duck harness pattern? (for when they are adults)

So cute, my drake Opie knows his name and my gander Sammy knows his name, I have 11 more and they are all named but don't seem to know their names

http://www.etsy.com/shop/PartyFowl you can put them in your tub with water up to the top of their legs and then stand back and watch and of course video it. make sure water is nice and warm and let them play for about 5-10 min then pat dry and put them right back under heat lamp, this will keep your brooder drier. Have fun.

Ducks can learn their names when used frequently. It's hard to find patterns for harnesses but there are a few places online that make them. Are you looking for a walking harness or a diaper harness?

Thanks for the tip about bathing, the bathtub is our next step, we were just kind of being over protective initially lol. As for the patterns I was looking for something like some of the dual harnesses I've seen on here that double as a diaper and harness so you can attatch a leash if need be. I intend to take whichever one warms to me the most everywhere!

I have a diapered duck, Soleil, and she does go everywhere I go (minus the grocery store). She goes on to vacations and family outings. The leash loop on the harness works to keep her in her car seat and stroller as well as walking with a leash. I haven't tried too many makers but I love Feathered Fashions (fashionmyfeathers.com) and I just put in an order for Party Fowl on Etsy.com. I'm excited to see how it fits on Soleil

Aww those are really cute! I did browse the site a bit and the products are adorable. I saw that someone made a duckling diaper out of a sock on this forum so that's what I'm going to do until they are full grown. I'm trying to convince the hubby to get a gosling now
