Tonya, that's great! I feeeel your excitement! When my last batch started to pip, I thought there was a piece of lint on an egg, then later I saw the shell pieces. You should start to see more pips, but it may be hours before they hatch. How fun!-karen

Did you ever think you would get emotionally attached to eggs?

Good to see you made it out of the kitchen! I hadn't really planned on Christmas chicks but I had already held the eggs for about a week because I knew I was going out of town last weekend. (just past)

It would be so cool to wake up to 6 fuzzy butts.

I did sleep. Finally went to bed at 2. Then up at 7:00.

I am amazed my kids slept so late!

Only day of the year I don't have to fight with them to get out of bed before 9.

I now have 2 1/2 pips. One is very small. I got the second pip about 1 am, and she is just peeping like crazy (amazing how warm a sound can make you feel.) I think she is zipping a little too.

I will continue to update you in between cooking and all the other holiday stuff.

Edited to add:

She is Zipping! She is almost out!! I wanted to watch but I called the kids and my chicken hating DH came too, and they are all crowded around the bator and I can't see a thing. So I made them move and snapped a quick picture.
I will add it in a min.
