More quad baby goats - but who da mama? Update - 2 new babies.

I sure wish my sheep were more like goats...I had one have quads (I was gone for the weekend) Lost them all. THe next day her daughter had twins. I kept them together hoping that the first mom would help with her daughter's twins--NO WAY! Any time they come close she butts them away. You would think she would let them suckle...it would be so much more comfortable for her....Terri O in WI

I bottle feed some and dam raise others, I none of mine grow up wild, they are extremely (annoyingly) tame. I have two that are less friendly then I'd like, I didn't raise either (well actually, I did get one at 10 weeks, but wasn't there for the early stuff). One of them is my easiest milker! I sold that one (I've kept two of her doe kids), and the other I will sell next year after I get a keeper out of her. Now I do prefer kids I buy to be on a bottle, but I don't have to bottle feed to make tame kids.

W/ dam raised kids I've bought can go either way, sometimes I'm successful in taming them and sometimes I'm not, but all my babies grow up tame!

We had two more baby boys born early Saturday morning. Gazelle gave birth, on her own, to two little boys. That brings the total births to 6 in the last few days. All mamas and babies are doing great.

Gazelle is Goldie's twin sister so they gave birth within a few days of one another. So far Goldie has produced the only girl. She's quite a cutie and all the little boys love her.

Bitsy (for those who followed her broken leg saga thread) is also due any day with Betty not too far behind her. So when all is said and done I should have five new mamas and no telling how many new babies. I'll finally get enough milk to maybe make soap or cheese.
