More Roost Space

I think this is the best place as my question pertains to flock management. As the title suggests, I need more roost space.

I can secure the outside rain cover area and in sorts it would expand the coop and give me more roost space. My question is about the likelihood of them utilizing the extra room by just removing the door marked with an X. Part of my brain tells me that they would be more likely to do so if I cut an opening at about where the square (don't give me a hard time, it's kinda a square) is and extend the roost there. I think by doing that they would think it's part of the same roost and may spread out.

Thoughts?

Hmm, you have a hoop coop? Is the wood the end of the coop or is it the walk between run/coop?
It's a walk in coop on the end that they crowd into at night. The hoop currently acts as a rainy day area and gives them the "coop" space that they need. The flock has grown since original build and is really pushing roost space to maximum limits.

Can you put roosts running across? Or ladder style roosts?

No, the coop was already built at max roost space. They only all go in at night and I'm not having behavioral issues. They seem content. I would feel better about them spreading out some and having the option to add a few at some point.

Maybe it's my old eyes and dark photo but I don't see current roost bars... ?? Where do they roost currently? I love the hoop coop.....
Roost behind the square. I'm trying to determine if they'll use the extra space if I secure it and add roost out there.
