More snow in NJ OMG!

8:20 pm and we're just getting a lot of wind and rain. Had snow this morning - big heavy flakes til about 1 pm. Ended up being 3 inches of slushy snow. 6 - 8 predicted for tonight. We'll see. Looking through gardening magazines and starting to drool.....

Well it just started here. Guess I was wrong! It's gonna be nasty though. There is a TON of rain on the ground so I'm sure it will be a sheet of ice come morning.

10:40 and still white out conditions. John Bolaris from Philly news says it is coming down at the rate of 2 0r 3" per hour- to continue through 1 AM or so. To say that I am bummed is an understatement. Lunachick, you guys got whacked last big one. It's our turn inland this time.

We got 4.5" in the AM followed by 10.5" last night. My neighbor just finished plowing my driveway (truly good guy) so now to shovel the deck, porch, sidewalks-finish off the driveway and make my way to the dogs, pigeons, and wild birds. This old body will hurt tonight.

Just refilled my Percocet perscription in anticipation of the agony of the 2 sliped disks in my back lol. Shoveled for a bit then my buddy came over and plowed everything out for me. We woke to 12 inches or so this morning. Well it's all cleaned up. Thanks to good friends. The chickens actually came out in it today. I guess they are getting used to it.

I hear you on the back pain... DH stayed in the city with his folks last night because it was 3-4" on the ground but turning to sleet/freezing rain so the driving was terrible. Well, Mother Nature must have had one of her mood swings after I took the dog out, because I went to bed with 5" of snow, about what was predicted, and woke up to 20" of new snow in my driveway. And in the 75' path I dug to the oil pipes yesterday before the truck driver decided that he couldn't get up the hill in the 3 inches of snow.

So I dug it again.

I really need a tired old man with a snow shovel smiley.

And the prediction for us is: Flurries on Fri., 1"-3" on Sat., possibly major storm on Tuesday. When it's done with us, it's coming North to all of New England.

Ok, more good news. Sam Champion from ABC news who is generally right on the money says that we are in a pattern that will continue through most of Feb. Probably one major storm per week for the next three or four weeks. Just the thought makes my shoulders and back hurt more.
