,we didn't even sleep, out all night hunting them with flashlights and lanterns. They were everywhere.

I found some last year, but am new to it, and not really sure how to look for them, and where to look. Everyone says elm trees, but I don't know what an elm tree looks like....I would love to find some of those.

Where DO you find them though?? In open fields? Under trees?

You find them where they grow..literally.

Oak trees, apple orchards, stream beds, shaded hillsides.....once you locate a stand keep an eye on it and mark the location in your head, they should be there every year for the most part.

I have a bottom that has produced and will be checking it tomorrow since we have had good rain and now some warm nights.

DO they grow in wooded areas? LIke pine woods?

Around here, I havent found any near pine but they can. Its a fungus, anywhere that offers the right conditions can produce Morels if the spores have taken hold.

My friend hit a truck load last week but he is lower in elevation then I am...hopefully the next few weeks will have them turned on here.
