Whew babies seem just fine after their first night in their outside apartment.

They are officially 3 weeks old today.

The thermometer says it got to down to 61 deg in box with straw but it was a about 8 inches from nesty area where chicks slept that had even more straw piled in from so I would guess it may have been 1-2 degrees warmer.

I snuggled them in my lap for about 10 minutes just now and they seemed like their normal happy selves. Of course Frida was like “Yeah, yeah, yeah I will sit here for a bit, but I think I need to climb up your arm and sit on your should instead or maybe go peck and scratch thanks for the light mom”

I checked on them a couple of times last night they started chirping whenever the light shined on them so I knew they were ok. I will sleep better tomorrow.

I specifically chose hardier breeds though more for heat tolerance but the Wyandotte- Frida does seem to have the denser feathers already. My Black Australorp- Kiki and EE- Nugget seemed to enjoy the warm lap time and even made their special happy noise once they got settled.
