In the Brooder
I paid 3 bucks each. And as far as I know he just got them from a local farm he goes to. He told me he didnt know if they were male or female but would compensate me if they turned out to be male. Im thinking the farm he got it from unloaded the roosters on him and he "unknowingly" sold to customers on the chance it could be a hen.How much did you buy them for? I wonder if that vendor was buying sexed males from a hatchery, then reselling them at a higher price as straight run.
I can't see how else they would know every chick is male.
