Mortgage relief... yeah right...

YEP! We were 3 months behind and got denied because we used our tax refund to get current LOL!!!!! I'm STILL laughing at the stupidity!! We called every week......

ETA: IT MAY BE A BLESSING IN DISGUISE! MY BIL ACTUALLY GOT THE ASSISTANCE AND THEN WHEN HE WENT BACK TO WORK FOR A SHORT TIME THEY JACKED HIS PAYMENT BACK UP AND BEYOND WHAT HE HAD BEEN PAYING BEFORE!!!!!! Just wanted to warn you! We're planning to sell ours......

We used first time home buyers, rural development and a downpayment grant program.
Makes for a very low mortgage payment with on every interesting problem.
80% of our loan is RD, and the rest is at 5% at the bank. Each time we have an increase in income, a part of the 80% gets transferred to the banks portion.
We knew this going in, and I think if the economy was not tanking so bad, we would not be so ready to get out.
And, they keep it very tight. Tighter then we were told it would be.
They take all of our extra increase

So guess what?
We are selling up next year!
Plans are in the works to build a straw bale house on family property and be done with this government controlled way of living

Last week they finally admitted the program that was to help millions of families with mortage issues only helped 170,000. A mere drop in the bucket.

I wish you all the best. We haven't applied for any of the programs so I can't speak to any specific issues with them. I just keep waiting to hear good news about the overall condition of things...still waiting. It's really funny how you can make numbers say anything you need them to say at any given time.

The jobs numbers are looking up because of all of the census workers that are being hired. They'll be done with the temp. work by the end of July.

It's just the 3 of us now..no reason why we can't. We have lived in it while DH was out of town to be close to him so, I think we could manage full time until we can build in a couple years. I am SOOO ready! Already planning a MOVING SALE!!!!!!

Yeah.....unfortunately our government has wasted our money yet again. *sigh* When the census jobs are gone unemployment will spring up to higher rates again...I keep thinking things will get better, but I am not so sure anymore. We're just gonna sell and bank the equity as a hedge. We'll build again when things pick back up in a few more years.

DH will be returning to work in 2 weeks but I dont know how we will catch up. The mtg is in my name only so we are thinking of trying to find a lower rate mtg in his name.

Hoping we can get them to at least accept regular payments with some extra on each month. Cross your fingers. =/

The fact that you received the foreclosure notice doesn't necessarily mean anything. Ask to talk to the supervisor of the helpful person you've been talking to. The fact that your lender dropped the ball shouldn't be used to penalize you. Call daily until you feel like you're getting somewhere. And call the foreclosure attorney and let them know what you're doing. It won't stop the process without the lender's say-so, but it can't hurt to let them know y'all are trying to make things work. Most lenders DO NOT want to own your house.

Thank goodness we went into voluntary poverty and moved to a small house, two steps backward from where we were, and cut out tons of stuff. Now, we are poor, but we're in better shape than many.
