Hi, first summer with chickens and the neighborhood is spraying for mosquito and ticks. I was just wondering if this will be an issue for the chickens. They won't be sprayed directly but the yard and woods around them will be sprayed. Thanks in advance for the help.

Don't worry as long as they're spraying the ground and notin the air it's not going to get to your property and small amounts of even the strongest spray such a ceismic is not going to be too much of a problem.

You got honey bees?

Insecticides kill pretty much all the insects, usually frogs and toads, everything. Not a happy event. Not targeting only unpleasant critters, but beneficials as well.
Find out what's being used, and look up the MSDS for each product.

Well, having your lawn sprayed with pesticides is not a good idea for the chickens. First of all check out which pesticides products that are going to be used by the exterminators. Next, if your exterminator cannot answer your questions about the chemicals they are going to use, then it will be harmful to the chickens. For my lawn, I had hired an exterminator in Antioch, CA who was more knowledgeable and educated, where they had used a safer chemicals for the extermination processes.
