Mosquito Question

I use mosquito bits in my French drains to prevent. I have a waterer that doesn't have a seal around time top & if I miss one day changing water mosquito larva are in it. If mosquito bits are safe for chickens can I put a few in the gallon of water to stop this?

Looks a little different. Used to be a shaker. I solved my water problem by hot gluing the top underside for a seal
Seems this stuff can be used or added to coop bedding to stop gnat breeding? I have a small raised 4x4 coop for 5 hens. My bedding is soft hemp and I mix it everyday because they don't hang out in there. 100 here every day and the gnats flying around the coop worry me. It does have 3 windows
