The mosquitos are bad enough that we are seriously considering one of those mosquito traps. I'd like to hear of your experience. From reviews I have read so far, they seem to be effective, until they stop working. They can also be a little pricey to run (cost of gas, lures, nets, etc.). I want to get a sense of which brands work the longest, so let's hear from you if you have one.

Also can you feed the dead mosquitoes to your birds? The bugs carry fowl pox, etc., but is it transmitted if the bird eats the bug?

I use "Misquito Beater". It's a spray that you can buy at almost any hardware store. You hook it to your hose and water your lawn. Spray where the areas are the worst too. Bushes and such. Don't spray on blooming things if you don't want to kill your bees. Once it's dry, it's safe for kids and pets. Spray when you know it's not going to rain for at least 1 day and don't mow your lawn for a couple days after you spray. I usaully do it the day I mow. They say to repeat once a month. But I have never had to repeat.

My youngest son breaks out severely from bug bites. It makes his limphnodes go nuts. I don't ever have to worry with this product.

You notice a difference within a week.

P.S. We call the misquito the state bird here in Wisconsin!
