Mosquitoes in the coop...LOTS OF THEM!!!!!

It's this machine that uses propane to produce CO2 and a chemical lure to attract mosquitoes. It has a fan that sucks them into a mesh trap where they get dehydrated and die. It is pricey- like $300 for the basic model, plus the cost of propane and lures, but my husband spends that much on toys that he rarely uses so I figured if $300 would help us enjoy our backyard more, it's well worth it!

Good for you!!!!

Thanks for the reply!

( I am watching this thread to see what other pest control things are out there........ I am about to wage war on the flies soon

Buying the thing was actually his idea! Someone at his workplace has one and recommended it. I just didn't argue with him like I do with his other purchases since this seemed practical!

Good luck finding something for the flies. The Rescue traps are supposed to work well, but hasn't made a noticeable dent in my fly population yet. Maybe they should be hung closer to the run, but I don't want to smell them - or have the neighbors smell them and blame the chickens!

hahaha...he got to buy a new toy

good for him! lol....the way I see it....my entire backyard seems to be a mosquito magnet...so no need to attract more! hahaha

So far we haven't had a flies issue...if one goes in the chicks eats them right out of the air..if not my hound/sheperd mix does....lol
