Mosquitoes!!!

I am in Citrus county. I totally spray all over inside the coops and the birds. I mix it to the 0.50% ratio but I use the concentrate but I also have a lot of coops and birds. Here is a chart from another BYC member. Maybe it will help. Good luck...

Gah - I've been using citronella and pyrethrin (horse) fly spray and it doesn't work in the least - but I just looked and it's a lower concentration. Now I'm on the lookout for more concentrated.

and...whoever said it yes - Skeeters are far worse this year because the rain fall has been well above average.

You can hang herb bags in there too. You can buy herbs, but you can also find the herbs that mosquitos don't like and hang them whole in the bags. The chickens won't be hurt by the smell, but they may not like it. Putting whole herbs in the coop won't be as smelly, and won't bother the hens as much. Fan is a good idea too, just don't want to get them cold depending on your temp right now.
The chickens won’t eat the herbs from the bags? I need to get the mosquitos out of coop at night when they sleep. They are swarming in there. I live in Florida, old Florida, pretty much in the woods So there is no knocking out the mosquito population
