Most aggressive rooster breed (good to hens)

I have seen videos of roosters attaking hawks and fighting till the death to protect his girls. They really protect the ones who submit to him or are his favorites. I only have silkie roosters but one is older than the other and he I believe would lay down his life for the hens because he always is watching the sky, he watches me when I go out there, and he went at my dog yesterday. Not in a harmful way but I guess a warning. I feel much better knowing I have a good protective rooster with my flock especially when I'm out of town or I'm not home. Hopefully this helps some!

A rooster might give his life up for the hens, and he probably will fight for his own life, but what are you gaining? A dead rooster? A search for a new rooster to protect them...and die doing it? Build a good run. Range your hens (& roosters) when you are out with them, and/or accept that losses happen.

I agree roosters dont protect from anything but themselves
I’ve seen way too many good Roos lay down their lives for their flock. They will put themselves in the line of danger for their girls, so they can have more time to get to safer grounds.

I just can’t agree to that at all.

I mean, they are literally engineered to protect their flock, possessing genetics that produce high testosterone, having them grow bigger in size compared to females, by growing spurs… the list could go on and on but it’s late …

Roosters are equiped to fight other roosters. They are no more equiped to fight large predators than you and I are equiped to fight lions.
What they may do as you mention is give their hens a chance to get to cover but they usually die doing it.
