I have 10 chickens. 2 amberlinks, 2 Gold laced wyandottes, and 6 australorps. My 2 amberlinks have been laying for almost 2 weeks, and now each have been giving me a new egg every day for 5 days straight in the same nesting box. All of my other chickens have yet to lay a single egg. Most of the australorps have been responding for a rooster for almost 2 weeks and their combs and waddles are even more developed than the amberlinks.
Am I missing something? could they be laying outside of the nesting boxes and eating the eggs? If they don't like the nesting boxes, will they not lay? Do they just need more time even though they have been giving me all the signs for weeks?
All the chickens should be over 20 weeks old at this point. I know it takes some longer to start laying, but I figured one or two should be laying by now.
