Just an added thought, you should check Craigslist in your area for chicks. The higher selling ones are usually the higher in demand ones.

Do they use regular size nesting boxes? That’s been my only worry about them.Black Jersey Giants for us
People tend to like them for how pretty they are. I have 1, she's only 19 weeks so not laying yet. I'm curious what age she'll start laying but I don't intend to keep her unless I can really tell her eggs apart from everyone elses. We have one little speckled Sussex and I think she’s a beautiful bird, but she’s still young and hasn’t started laying so I wasn’t sure how well she would do.
I think most people go the standard route and are okay... mine are 18” x 18” but I was able to pre-plan the coop specifically for the breed. Also due to JG’s size... boxes need to be closer to ground level. They are quite lovely beasts thoughDo they use regular size nesting boxes? That’s been my only worry about them.
I don’t know about yours but ours is a super busy body. I fully intend on having to do an egg hunt on hers. She’s so small compared to everyone else and ours free range all day. I’ve seen her on top of the pump shed I’ve seen her on top of the wood pile she’s just a little forager.People tend to like them for how pretty they are. Mine is ... Heh, the boss, despite being of the younger group. She goes around picking on everyone else.I don’t know about yours but ours is a super busy body. We are actually in the process of building a chicken barn right now and I’m wanting to put in some of the the “best next box” my fear is that I spend all that money and they can’t get their big fluffy butts in there.I think most people go the standard route and are okay... mine are 18” x 18” but I was able to pre-plan the coop specifically for the breed. I hear ya. If looking to continue (breed) your flock of JG’s... and if they do get broody, they are prone to breaking their eggs due to their size... my thought is bigger is better in regard to nest boxes. But I am a complete newbie and am so very far from being an expertWe are actually in the process of building a chicken barn right now and I’m wanting to put in some of the the “best next box” my fear is that I spend all that money and they can’t get their big fluffy butts in there.
